Taking action after networking

Sometimes you come away with an immediate follow-up item after a professional networking event.

While at the national conference for WordPress, I had mentioned to several people about making videos on web development and cameras, and having them hosted on my YouTube channel. They were intrigued and wanted to check it out.

Cool. But I quickly came to the realization that I hadn’t been promoting my YouTube channel much at all. Notably, it wasn’t on my business card, or even on the homepage for my personal website. Therefore, anyone visiting my site wouldn’t know it existed!

So when I returned from the conference, the first thing I did was add mention and links to my channel.

It’s a rather small item, but to me, just one of the many positive examples of what you can take away from the simple action of networking with others.
