Overview

The requirement for this project was a landing page to promote the use of AV technology products leveraging the efficiency and scalability of a data network infrastructure.

Objective

The aim of this landing page was to communicate thought leadership around the advantages of using standard computer network technology to distribute video throughout a facility, highlighting various cost and application benefits.

The primary challenge with this project was the need to originate novel ways of articulating the use of the company's products. Ideas and concepts were to be generated from scratch, both verbally and visually, without reliance on simply lifting and pasting the marketing verbiage previously created for the products.

Content Creation

Concept

The concept, vision, and talking points were all determined by myself, with some feedback by stakeholders. A key enabling factor was command knowledge of our company's product lines, as well as the core technologies behind them.

Copywriting

This was a 100% original writing effort, with very minimal editing by others.

Design

I originated the layout for this landing page, beginning with a visual ideation tool (Adobe XD) to quickly experiment with various layout concepts through high-fidelity wireframes. Once completed, the design was then handed over to our web developer to build out the page.

I also created all of the diagrams throughout, based on a combination of original design elements and some stock artwork for the icons.

Overview

This is an example of the many product webpages I have created. About 85 percent of the pages on the Atlona website are the direct result of my work.

Objective

Every product introduced by the company requires a dedicated webpage to provide sufficient information and specifications. The aim is to facilitate customer education about the product and a potential decision to make a purchase.

This particular product webpage is the result of a resdesign concept in which we sought to combine a visual, reader-friendly introduction, with the abundant technical information typical of AV technology products.

Content Creation

Concept

This most recent design of our product webpages was the result of a collaboration with other marketing team members and our web developers. I developed the essential talking points for each product webpage, based on analyzing our product development documentation and relying on my own intuition.

Copywriting

I created all of the written promotional content, based on knowledge of the product specifics, as well as my general understanding of AV technologies honed over years of continual research.

Design

All of the product webpages include one or more application diagrams, such as the one shown here. In general, I sketch out each diagram using Microsoft Visio, send to our product managers for feedback, and then hand over to our technical illustrator to create the final diagram.

Product Brochure

Overview

At Extron, marquee products are launched with a dedicated color product brochure. The product featured in this brochure was a first for the company in terms of the technology features and capabilities.

These color brochures range from a tri-fold to as many as 16 pages. I have helped to produce at least a dozen of these promotional pieces during my time at Extron.

Objective

The aim of these color brochures is to promote key product introductions with a variety of information that not only describes the product in-depth, but also elaborates on innovative design features and potential end-user applications.

They also cover the breadth and complexity of technologies in higher-end AV products.

Content Creation

Concept

A multi-page color product brochure requires an abundance of proper scoping and forethought. The concept and vision for this specific brochure was the result of a collaboration between myself and the product marketing manager.

Copywriting

I originated well over 90 percent of the writing for the brochure, based on extensive research of the product development documentation, and briefings from the product marketing manager and product manager.

Design

Application system diagrams, such as the one below were envisioned by myself, sometimes in coordination with the product marketing manager. Diagram sketches were often by hand, then handed off to the technical illustrator.
